Sami Hayek

The Nonversation Porcelain Collection by home designer Sami Hayek is mastered with porcelain, one of the most antique materials in which luxury has expressed itself. Made in Florence, Italy from the oldest porcelain factory dating back to 1735, this porcelain tableware collection goes through a refined process starting with clay, feldspar and silica. First crushed using jaw crushers, hammer mills and ball mills, these ingredients are cleaned to remove improperly sized materials, then subjected to casting. The ware then undergoes a preliminary firing step called bisque-firing, then a second fire at high temperature for the drawings and details. The third fire is performed for the hand brushed gold in every piece.

Each porcelain piece represents freedom of thought and action, a reminder to not take life so seriously and to enjoy good company. The porcelain tableware pictures a sensual, nude female, which represents freedom and beauty while the flower-guns inspire positive power, to aim for beautiful things. The cognac and goblet pictured represents social duality, one can always find happiness in a full goblet while the cards represent freedom to create your own reality no matter what cards are dealt to you in life. The mushrooms pictured on the porcelain only grow in peaceful times while the marijuana reminds us that pain is inevitable but suffering is optional. This porcelain collection will become your greatest nonversation at the dinner table, engaging your friends and loved ones.

This Porcelain Collection is offered in Green and Gold and Gold on Gold.
