Fine Italian craftsmanship combined with old Hollywood glam is the essence of the Bienen-Davis brand. Created by Herbert Bienen and Edwin Davis in 1931 in New York, the luxury handbag brand’s legacy has been reinvented by Herbert’s great nephew Richard Bienen. Influenced by his mother Pat Mori, who worked together with Roy Halston in the 1970’s, Bienen continues to work with the company’s original Italian artisans. Luxurious fabrics like velvet, jacquard, brocade and calf hair are mixed with 24-karat gold hardware, embodying a spirit of 1930’s glamour and the Art Deco movement. Each bag is handcrafted, some reincarnated from original 1940’s designs. Donned by some of Hollywood’s most iconic stars, the brand’s handbags are made to be seen in the spotlight. They are currently a part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent collection.
