CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN WAS FIRST INSPIRED BY A SIGN IN A MUSEUM SAYING THAT HIGH HEELS WERE NOT PERMITTED—LEAVING LOUBOUTIN IN TOTAL FASCINATION FROM NEVER HAVING SEEN A SHOE LIKE THAT BEFORE. LOUBOUTIN LAUNCHED HIS OWN LINE OF DESIGNER SHOES FOR WOMEN IN THE EARLY 1990S, ADDED HIS SIGNATURE RED SOLES IN 1993, AND LATER EXPANDED TO HANDBAGS AND MENS’ SHOES. HIS SIGNATURE RED SOLES WERE INSPIRED BY WATCHING HIS ASSISTANT PAINT HER NAIL REDS, AND DECIDED TO COLOR THE SOLES RED AS A FLIRTATIOUS STATEMENT. LOUBOUTIN SOON REALIZED THE RED SOLES WERE SOUGHT AFTER BY HIS CUSTOMERS AND DECIDED TO CONTINUE. HIS ARTISTIC SHOES SOON ATTRACTED THE LIKES OF PRINCESS CAROLINE OF MONACO AND MADONNA WHO WORE HIS DANGEROUSLY HIGH HEELS, HELPING TO INTRODUCE THE WORLD TO LOUBOUTIN.
